The Construction Education Foundation (CEF) was created by the Associated General Contractors of Alaska to support construction industry education and training. Alaska Construction Academies are a program managed by the CEF with funding from the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development. The program recruits and trains high school students and adults for entry-level jobs in construction and helps prepare new workers for trade apprenticeship positions. Construction Academies serve Anchorage, Fairbanks, Mat-Su, Kenai Peninsula, Juneau, Ketchikan, Nome, Kodiak, Dillingham, and King Salmon.
