Working Together for Jobs

Alaska Works Partnership:

We're a non-profit that connects Alaskans with job opportunities in construction. We provide education, training, and a path to a rewarding career with good pay, benefits, and a lifetime of skills.

Established in 1996 by Alaska's Building and Construction Trade, we are dedicated to increasing Alaska hire in the industry. Our motto is "Working Together for Jobs" and we partner with industry employers, community organizations, educators, and the state to "build Alaska one community at a time".

We've helped thousands of Alaskans in over 140 communities get started in construction. Let us help you build your future!

Choose Construction: A promising path to a high-paying career!

Now is a great time to consider a career in construction. With an average salary of over $70,000 a year and 25,000 employed in the industry, it's a stable and lucrative field. 5,000 of these workers are non-residents who come to Alaska for the high pay, but many of these jobs could be filled by locals who live here year-round.

Construction industry employers require hundreds of new workers annually to replace retirees and non-resident workers. This is not limited to construction only, as other industries such as oil & gas, mining, maritime, and seafood processing also face a shortage of skilled trades such as welders, electricians, carpenters, equipment operators, plumbers, and pipefitters, and other trades-people. This high demand presents a unique opportunity to secure a stable and well-paying career.
