After a distinguished career in the U.S. Army, Cody Butkiewicz was ready for a new direction. Seeking a fulfilling career in the trades, he completed the Veterans Electrical Entry Program (VEEP) and set his sights on joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). To further prepare himself, Cody partnered with Alaska Works Partnership, where he completed several key trainings, including OSHA, First Aid, and Weatherization Tech 1. These courses provided him with essential skills and boosted his confidence to pursue a path in electrical work.
Today, Cody is a first-year apprentice with IBEW, applying his military dedication and the skills he gained through Alaska Works Partnership to succeed in his new role. His journey shows how commitment and quality training can create a smooth transition for veterans entering the trades. Cody’s story is one of resilience, growth, and new beginnings in a rewarding career.
