Kenna initially joined AWP seeking opportunities for career advancement, having been limited to part-time work due to childcare responsibilities. Uncertain about her path, she explored options such as taking training with us, advancing within her current job, joining an apprenticeship, or exploring other opportunities. Kenna engaged in multiple AWP trainings and even applied to the IBEW, ultimately landing a spot on their waiting list. During this period, she continued her training with us, worked as a stage hand at a performing arts center, and assisted friends with home renovation projects. These experiences culminated in a new career as a Stage Hand Carpenter with the Anchorage Opera. Kenna now enthusiastically embraces her role, attributing her success to the skills acquired through AWP's training programs.
